An investigation has commenced regarding a shooting incident at Adventist Senior High School in Ashanti Region, where a 16-year-old student accidentally discharged a firearm, injuring another student. On April 4, at approximately 12:00 PM, an incident involving a firearm occurred at the Adventist Senior High School in the Ashanti Region, prompting an investigation by local police. Preliminary findings suggest that a 16-year-old second-year student brought a locally made pistol, specifically loaded with BB ammunition, to school. The student inadvertently discharged the weapon while attempting to show it to a peer, resulting in injury to another student.
The police report, issued by Deputy Superintendent Mr. Godwin Atsu Ahianyo, indicates that the name of the injured student is being withheld for privacy reasons. Following the incident, the injured individual received medical attention at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and is currently reported to be in stable condition.
