Tata Motors has officially introduced its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in Mauritius, consisting of the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, in collaboration with Allied Motors. This significant step marks Tata’s inaugural venture outside the SAARC region. The vehicles incorporate high-voltage technology and promise a sustainable alternative for the Mauritian market.

Yash Khandelwal, the Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, underscored the strategic importance of Mauritius in their global EV strategy. He expressed confidence that Tata’s success in India and the SAARC countries will aid in transitioning Mauritius towards electric mobility, supported by a diverse range of EVs through their partnership with Allied Motors.

James Ngan, Managing Director of Allied Motors, described the collaboration as a transformative force for Mauritius’ automotive landscape. He stated that the Tata EV lineup presents an ideal mix of performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology, enhanced by comprehensive after-sales support, which he believes will enhance the transportation experience in Mauritius.

The Tiago.ev, aimed at entry-level consumers, features an impressive 190-210 km range and fast-charging capabilities. The Punch.ev, a compact SUV, offers a more luxurious experience with modern features like a 26.03 cm Harman infotainment system and a range of 270-290 km. At the top is the flagship Nexon.ev, boasting a 350-375 km range, swift acceleration (0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds), and premium features such as a 360-degree camera and JBL audio system.

All TATA.ev models are backed by an extensive warranty offering 8 years or 160,000 km on the battery and motor, along with a 7-year vehicle warranty. Customers will also receive a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box. Allied Motors will ensure full sales and after-sales support, with their service staff trained by Tata Motors to maintain high standards.

The launch of Tata’s EV range in Mauritius represents a significant expansion of its international presence. The strategic partnership with Allied Motors is poised to enhance the automotive landscape in Mauritius, offering innovative electric mobility solutions. With features catering to diverse consumer needs and robust after-sales support, Tata aims to play a vital role in the transition to electric vehicles in the region.
