TATA.ev and Allied Motors Collaborate to Launch Electric Vehicles in Mauritius

TATA.ev has launched its range of electric vehicles in Mauritius in collaboration with Allied Motors. This includes models such as the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, focusing on performance, safety, and ease of maintenance. Key figures from TATA and Allied Motors highlighted the importance of this venture in contributing to sustainable mobility in Mauritius.

TATA.ev, a subsidiary of Tata Motors and India’s foremost electric vehicle manufacturer, has made its entry into the Mauritian automotive market. The company has partnered with Allied Motors, the leading auto distributor in Mauritius, to introduce a varied range of electric vehicles, including the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, emphasizing performance, safety, and comfort along with hassle-free maintenance.

Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., remarked on Mauritius being strategically significant to their EV expansion, noting, “With the government’s strong commitment to sustainable mobility, Mauritius holds strategic importance in our EV journey.” He highlighted TATA.ev’s established success in the SAARC markets and the intention to support Mauritius in its transition to electric mobility.

James Ngan, Managing Director of Allied Motors, supported this view by stating, “The new TATA.ev portfolio offers a perfect combination of power, efficiency, and advanced technology, giving consumers access to world-class electric mobility.” He further expressed excitement regarding the anticipated positive influence these electric vehicles will have on Mauritius’ automotive landscape, supported by robust service and after-sales support.

The Tiago.ev is designed for urban driving, equipped with a 24 kWh battery and providing a real-world C75 range of 190-210 km. It features multi-mode regeneration, various drive modes, and fast-charging capability, achieving 10-80 percent charge in 58 minutes. The Punch.ev, powered by a 35 kWh battery, offers a range of 270-290 km and features a sophisticated infotainment system as well as premium fittings to enhance the driving experience.

The flagship Nexon.ev SUV includes a 45 kWh battery and delivers 350-375 km on a single charge, with capabilities such as a 106 kW power output and accelerated speed from 0-100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds. Each vehicle model comes with warranties for the battery and motor (8 years/160,000 km) and the vehicle itself (7 years/150,000 km), plus complimentary 7.2 kW home charging equipment.
