Adepoju emphasized that the operation successfully impeded the act of vandalism, stating, “The joint security forces successfully thwarted an attempt by miscreants to vandalise a pipeline, leading to the death of the vandals who sought to detonate it.” This incident occurred on March 16 in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers, thanks to the rapid intervention of law enforcement.
In a follow-up operation on March 19, security forces advanced to the Onelga LGA, where they averted another potential bombing. During this operation, two suspects were apprehended with four dynamite sticks in their possession. Additionally, police successfully detonated components associated with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
