The Niger State Police Command has apprehended a man named Mubarak, who is suspected to have mental health issues, following the fatal stabbing of 25-year-old Shamseen Danshehu. The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Kwangila area of Minna, the capital of Niger State. Reports indicate that during an altercation between the two men, Mubarak allegedly stabbed Danshehu in the chest.

Emergency services transported Danshehu to the Minna General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Local residents expressed confusion regarding the cause of the altercation, mentioning that Mubarak was often seen scavenging in refuse containers around the neighborhood.

Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the details of the incident and the subsequent arrest. He stated, “It was reported that one Mubarak, who is suspected of insanity and also scavenging around Kwangila, had a fight with a passerby, Shamsu Danshehu 25 years of the same area. During the fight, the said scavenger stabbed Shamsu on the chest with scissors. The victim was rushed to the general hospital but gave up the ghost in the hospital and confirmed dead. The suspect was arrested for further investigation.”
