Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, both 27 years old, were apprehended on March 18, shortly after the discovery of Rajput’s body concealed in a drum filled with dust, cement, and water. The police allege that the couple sedated Rajput’s food before fatally attacking him on March 4, following his return from London.
In 2020, as Rajput began working in the UK, Muskan initiated a relationship with Sahil, the couple’s neighbor. After the murder, Muskan dismembered Rajput’s body into 15 parts while her 5-year-old daughter slept in the adjacent room. Subsequently, she left her daughter at her parents’ residence and fled to Shimla with Sahil. Police were alerted to the incident on March 18, leading to their arrest shortly thereafter.
