The Meerut police uncovered the murder of Saurabh Rajput by his wife Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla. Investigations show Saurabh’s body was found chopped in a cement-filled drum, leading to confessions from the suspects. Arguments over an extramarital affair and financial motives are central to the case, alongside a lack of evidence for black magic involvement.
The police in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, have disclosed critical information regarding the murder of former Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput, allegedly at the hands of his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla. Saurabh’s dismembered body, found sealed in a cement-filled drum on March 4, was discovered a week after his return from abroad to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. Both Muskaan and Sahil were subsequently arrested.
Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh is overseeing the investigation and has responded to numerous inquiries following the discovery of the murder, which has led to speculation regarding potential ties to black magic, Muskaan’s alcohol habits, and her aspirations in the Bollywood industry. He mentioned that both Muskaan and Sahil had confessed to the murder, detailing how they disposed of the body and attempted to evade capture by fleeing to Himachal Pradesh.
Muskaan and Saurabh entered into a love marriage in 2016; however, their relationship deteriorated after Saurabh uncovered Muskaan’s affair in 2021. Police revealed that, although Muskaan had been in a relationship with Sahil since 2019, Saurabh chose to remain in the marriage initially due to family pressure. Muskaan has also stated that her relationship with Sahil was tumultuous, influenced by Sahil’s alcohol addiction and their financial difficulties.
Prior to the murder, there was an alleged attempt by Muskaan and Sahil to harm Saurabh on February 25, 2023, which was not successful. Their planned execution of the crime did not materialize until March 3. Investigators are currently conducting a thorough examination, which includes identifying the shop where the items utilized in the crime were purchased and scrutinizing the activities of both suspects while in Shimla.
Despite initial suspicions surrounding possible black magic connections, Superintendent Singh clarified that no evidence supports this theory and labeled the murder as the result of a deliberate conspiracy. Investigators aim to determine the suspects’ intended actions concerning the drum and their broader premeditated plans surrounding the crime.
Additionally, Muskaan has claimed that financial motivations were present in the case. Allegedly concerned about Saurabh’s funds amounting to Rs 6 lakh, she stated that he transferred money to her and his mother’s accounts shortly before his death. Ongoing investigations will verify these financial claims and explore any related evidence.
The horrific murder case has attracted widespread attention, particularly as the gruesome nature of the crime was initially uncovered when Muskaan and Sahil returned to their residence. Neighbors, alerted by foul odors emanating from the property, contacted the authorities, leading to the discovery of Saurabh’s remains. The confession to her mother and subsequent reporting to law enforcement ultimately revealed the shocking circumstances surrounding Saurabh’s demise and raised concerns about the mental and emotional state of their daughter, who has expressed distress about her father’s fate.
The tragic case of Saurabh Rajput’s murder unfolds layers of betrayal, financial motives, and potential drug use intertwined with personal relationships. The investigation, led by Superintendent Ayush Vikram Singh, focuses on gathering evidence to ensure justice is served. The case highlights critical issues surrounding domestic violence, extramarital affairs, and the tragic consequences that ensue, along with the emotional toll on children involved.
