The incident claimed the life of the toddler, whose mother is now hospitalized. Yamu indicated that a member of the Public Safety Response, implicated in the accident, was saved from a mob and taken into custody for further investigation. Meanwhile, efforts continue to locate and apprehend the driver who fled the scene.
Yamu confirmed that operatives from the Esigie Divisional Headquarters were promptly dispatched to the location following the accident’s report. They managed the scene while proper records and photographic evidence were gathered to ascertain the circumstances of the crash.
