They are also exploring a potential motive related to her desire not to leave Angola at the mission’s conclusion.
A knife believed to have been used in the crime was discovered at the crime scene, alongside a cash amount equivalent to about $5,000 in Angolan kwanzas. Law enforcement reported that Beau Shroyer’s body was found alongside his belongings, with Jackie present, visibly distraught at the scene.
Beau Shroyer served as a student resource officer with the Detroit Lakes Police Department before his passing, known affectionately by students as “Officer Nice Guy.” An obituary highlighted his commitment to serving others while in Africa.
