Residents in Niger Take Justice into Their Own Hands Against Thief

According to reports, the individual stole a motorcycle from the market but was pursued by its rightful owners. In a bid to escape capture, he abandoned the stolen bike and attacked his pursuers with a knife.

Witnesses revealed that when the accused realized he could not evade capture, he resorted to violence by brandishing a knife at those chasing him. However, the growing crowd managed to overpower him before resorting to extreme measures, ultimately leading to him being set on fire using tyres.

The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, was unavailable for comments at the time of this report. Such incidents raise significant concerns about public safety and the community’s response to crime in the area.
