According to eyewitness accounts, “The officer shot Sani while he was sleeping. He also attempted to shoot Mai Shayi, but he ran away. Bullet shells were found at the scene.” The event has raised serious concerns regarding the conduct of law enforcement officers in the region.

In light of the incident, Wasiu Abiodun, spokesman for the Niger State Police, confirmed that a comprehensive investigation has been ordered.
