Frank Tayali, the Transport and Logistics Minister, has urged for the conclusion of the 16th protocol to enhance technical collaboration for the revitalization of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA). In a recent meeting with Mr. Jin Jun, the Economic Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Tayali praised the efforts made by Tanzania and Zambia in TAZARA’s revitalization, highlighting the urgency of signing the protocol with China.
Fredrick Mwalusaka, the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Logistics, noted that TAZARA is currently operating under the 15th protocol and emphasized the importance of progressing to the new agreement. The transition to the 16th protocol is viewed as essential for the future of the railway.
