Aston Martin’s Valkyrie hypercar is set to debut in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship at the Qatar 1812km. This marks a historic entry for the brand, participating in the premier hypercar category. The team has assembled talented drivers and aims for success at renowned endurance races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Additionally, the Vantage GT3 will compete in the LMGT3 category, aiming for further victories.

Aston Martin’s Valkyrie hypercar is poised to make its global race debut at the opening round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Qatar. This significant event marks the first participation of the Valkyrie in hypercar competition, as it is the only road-derived model competing in both the WEC and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The Valkyrie features a race-optimized chassis and a powerful 6.5-liter V12 engine, producing over 1000 bhp in standard form but adhering to a regulated cap of 500 kW (or 680 bhp) for competition purposes.

The Aston Martin THOR Team aims to reclaim victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, an achievement last accomplished in 1959. The team has assembled a competitive roster for its two-car program, featuring experienced drivers including Marco Sørensen, Tom Gamble, Alex Riberas, and Harry Tincknell. Newcomers Ross Gunn and Roman De Angelis will also compete in the opening race in Qatar as a prelude to their IMSA campaign.

Harry Tincknell expressed, “I’m massively looking forward to Qatar… It’s amazing to be a part of a programme that has generated such interest.” Tom Gamble noted his excitement about contributing to the Aston Martin project during this historic debut. Meanwhile, Team Principal Ian James remarked, “It’s Year One… we have to be realistic about what we can achieve… our goal initially is just to go out there and get better every time.”

In parallel, Aston Martin’s Vantage GT3 continues to pursue success in the LMGT3 category as part of the WEC. The Heart of Racing—one of the partner teams—has an accomplished driver lineup, aiming to secure the 12th FIA WEC crown for Aston Martin. The 2025 season will also introduce Racing Spirit of Léman, which features an exciting roster, including winners from the Aston Martin Racing Academy.

The highly anticipated race will take place at the Lusail International Circuit on February 28, 2025, commencing at 14:00 local time. Fans worldwide can witness the event live via FIA WEC TV, with commentary in both English and French.

Aston Martin’s Valkyrie hypercar debuts in the FIA World Endurance Championship, representing a new chapter for the brand in global racing. This debut allows Aston Martin to challenge for prestigious titles and marks its return to the top tiers of endurance racing. Alongside the Valkyrie, the Vantage GT3 aims to maintain Aston Martin’s competitive legacy in the LMGT3 category. The team aspires for improvement and victory in the upcoming races.
